Children's Faith Formation

St. Theresa's supports parents in providing faith formation for their children. Questions? Contact Dawn at dawn.sample@sttheresafw.org.

Preschool

Faith Formation classes for three year old and prekindergarten children meet during the 8:30 and 11am Sunday Masses, beginning in October.

Sunday School

Kindergarten through 5th grade meet between the Masses, so that children can attend Mass with their families. Through prayer, scripture, stories, activities, service projects and music our Faith Formation teachers support parents in passing on our Catholic faith.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

During the 8:30 and 11am Masses, children are invited to follow the leader of the Children's Liturgy of the Word to the chapel where the readings and the Gospel are proclaimed using the children's lectionary. The children have an opportunity to talk about what they have heard, pray aloud together the Apostles Creed and offer their own Prayers of the Faithful. Children return to the Mass after the Homily.

Sacramental Preparation

Children who are baptized Catholics, in grades 2-5 or 6-12, spend a year in preparation for First Reconciliation and/or First Communion. Children need to complete one year of Faith Formation before they are eligible to participate in sacramental preparation.
